Cancun Beaches

It is more precise to describe the beaches in Cancun as one continuous stretch of soft, white sand along the eastern coast.  Although the coast is lined by large, waterfront resorts, all of Mexican beaches are public property.

1  Playa Las Perlas

2  Playa Juventud

3  Playa Linda

4  Playa Langosta

5  Playa Tortuga

6  Playa Caracol

7  Playa Chac Mool

8  Playa Del Rey

Cancun Map of Beaches

The hotels often have their own water activities available but there are also lots of solicitation along the beaches for parasailing, banana boat rides, helicopter rides, etc.

On beaches that faces the open Caribbean water, be cautious of quickly changing water conditions. This change can bring strong undertows creating unsafe water conditions.  Become familiar with Cancun's water-safety flag system.

Flag color

White - excellent
Green - safe
Yellow - use caution
Black or Red - unsafe
