Cancun Car Rentals
Tips: Getting the Best Rates:
In most cases, rental rates are much cheaper booking before you travel. For
example, daily rate online can be $17 USD/day and up compared to $45 USD/day
and up once you are in Cancun. If you plan to rent more 3 days, compare with
weekly rates. Often there is little difference. Once in Cancun you will find
there are coupons in magazines and promotional brochures where there are discounts
for car rentals - NOTE: read the fine prints - often these are for standard
transmission only and does not include any insurance or other related fees.
Pick Up / Drop Off locations: Car rentals are available at
the airport, downtown, along the hotel zone, and at the the hotels. Some of
the larger car rental companies allow different pick up and drop off location
for an added fee. To get the most of your dollar, if you plan to rent a car
for the week, renting it at the airport will save you extra $$ - save on airport
transfer fees and taxi fares. Avis and Executive are at the airport. Budget
and Smart Car have locations across the airport.
