How do I get there?
Take a Tour: A really good option is to take a tour of Coba
with a tour opertor. Most of the tours include a stop at the small Mayan Village
Pac Chen for lunch and then a swim at the cenotes and even zip lines through
the jungle.
Rent a Car: If
driving to Coba, a good combo
driving tour is Tulum and
Coba. You can go to Tulum
first ) ~1.5 hour drive from
Cancun and then make your
way to Coba. Coba is about
45 minutes west of Tulum.
If driving, don't forget
to take a map.
Take a Bus.
Take a bus to the bus terminal,
then a bus to Tulum
and then a bus to Coba.
If you do this tour on your own, it's a great idea to hire a tour guide. Tour
guides will be soliciting near the entrance where you purchase your tickets.
You can have a private guide or share with others.
Recommended to bring: The area does not have much shade and
during the day, the sun can get extremely hot so be warned. Bottled water can
be purchased at the entrance. A hat is highly recommended. The area is large
so comfortable walking shoes or hiking shoes recommended and insect repellent.
