How to Get There
Distance from Cancun: 122 km (~76 miles)
Hotel Pick Up: Reserve ahead online and get pick
your hotel.
Take a Taxi: The travel time from the Cancun
hotel zone to Xel-Ha is about 60 minutes. Just
tell the driver "Xel-Ha". Always ask the driver "how much?"
before getting into the cab. For the best going rates, ask your hotel concierge
for the current taxi rates.
Rent a Car: The travel time from Cancun to Xel-Ha
is about 60 minutes. From the hotel zone, follow the highway to Tulum. Soon
after "Akumal", you will see a road sign for Xel-Ha. See car
rental information.
Take a Bus: Along the hotel zone, the public
bus is about 65 cents to ride and passes by the hotels almost very 2 minutes.
Take the RI bus to the bus terminal downtown. It's a good idea to ask the bus
driver to let you know when you get to the bus terminal and sit near the front.
At the bus terminal, buy tickets to "Tulum". Ask the bus driver to
drop you at the Xel-Ha Parks entrance; from there is just a 5 minute walk into
the park. On your return, you have to walk back to the main highway to catch
a bus (wave one down) or you can also take a public white vans to take you to
Playa del Carmen bus station. From there catch an express bus back to the Cancun
bus terminal. It's a good idea to check to see what the return schedules are
like before you depart.
