El Cedral
(Mayan Ruin)
Previously the largest Maya site on Cozumel Island (first town of Cozumel), was the temple sited by the Spanish explorers in 1518. The site also contains numerous small ruins. Every May, a small festival is held there. Tour guides are recommended.-
Museo de las Isla de CozumelThis building on the main street downtown and was Cozumel's first luxury hotel which was converted into a museum. This 2 floor building has 4 exhibit halls of the island's history and ecosystem. Also on the ground floor (outside) is a replica of a Mayan house.
On the second floor, there is also a restaurant on the terrace overlooking the sea.

Plaza del Sol, San MiguelThis is the main square of the town of San Miguel. This square or "la plaza" as it is most frequently called, is surrounded by restaurants, shops and buildings.-
Punta Celerain Lighthouse, Cozumel, MexicoThis old lighthouse can only be access by car (jeep recommended) and is located at southern eastern tip of the island. To get there, you must take a 4km dirt road off the main road . After rainy days, the roads are often flooded. You can climb the lighthouse and stay for fried fish and beer. This site was temporarily closed late summer of 1998.
San Gervasio RuinsLargest ruin site in Cozumel located in the interior of the island. Will need to taxi or drive. A guide is highly recommended to learn of the fascinating history of the ruins. Entrance fee.
