Executive is at Iberostar, but they are expensive to rent from the hotel.  Option: book online with National, call from the hotel, they will come get you and take you to the shop (4 minutes) never had a problem with them.

we used National

Booked online, and called when we got there.  We had reserved a bug for 2 weeks for $450.00 with the $10.00(they started at $14.00) a day insurance.  No bug but they gave us a jeep for the same price, very clean and ran great.  A piece of extra advice: if you rent a jeep, make sure you get one that comes with windows, many a wet rear end in the morning if you don't.  Happy travels....

We were in Coz this past October and rented a Jeep from National Car Rental right across from the Allegro Resort. It cost us $70.00 for a 24 hour rental and the gas/fuel gauge was not operating properly and they tried like hell to rip us off for the price of a tank of gas. Fortunately, just as I was pulling out of the parking lot to make a run to "re-fill" the tank, the gauge began to function correctly. I would suggest renting a vehicle for the entire stay at a more reputable establishment or simply utilize the taxi service (at least they have up-front pricing).

We rented a car through national at the Costa Club
2 weeks ago.  I had made the reservation before and the pick up went smoothly.  We wanted to return the car 2 days later and were told we couldn't, there was a 4 day minimum rental. Of course no one had told us this- not when I made the initial reservation or at pick-up.  So we take the car because we didn't want to deal with a hassle.  When we go to return it(& yes, they're  never there, we went back at least 4 times before someone was) the rental guy says he will only charge us $150 on our charge if we give him $40 cash-we were expecting to pay what we were quoted, $240.  Of course we went for it because it saved us $50 but it's pretty sketchy-

National Car Rental Question(s)........+

They also have an office on the square, directly across from the Catholic church. ++We had absolutely no problem with them and there is (was) someone there all the time.

National Car Rental Question(s)........+

We have rented from the same guy at Costa Club this year and no problems. We were there 10 days and some days we rented... some not. If we wanted to keep the jeep another day he was always accomodating. This is the 8th year in a row renting from that counter and although his hours are not early ( and yes the siesta time afternoon ) we always seemed to hook up. If he wasn't there we just could leave the keys with the front desk later in the day. In fact the day before we left another couple had to check out and get to the airport. They left the keys at the front desk and I saw them get to the car guy. The talller heavier fella who you rent mopeds and trip packages from is Speedy. Quite a character. We wanted a moped one day with a basket so he sent for one. Instead of us filling it with gas he did right there. We visited often throught the years about the places he's traveled to. His favorite is a small town in Canada and he had just returned from Acapulco before the season here started. I guess anuything can happen when you rent cars and things but just wanted to say we have been lucky and the people are generally pretty great.

National: We used the one across the street from the Allegro.  Rented a Jeep and had no problems except the tank was empty and we had to race to the gas station immediately.

Hello Twelvevolt, We used National and had no problems last time.  Going 2nd week of March, have not even looked into it yet.  I'll keep an eye on your posts for more info for our group.

Good luck, Fins Up.

We used National in June. They did pick us up at the airport. The weekly rate we got was very good. The car was a bit of a beater but everything including the air-conditioning worked. We would use them again.

Nationals cars are in aweful shape and they will not pick you up at the airport.  They gave me the worst rental car experience of my life and I told everyone on the board about 2 months ago every detail.  Without rehashing the detail, just trust me and stay away.

I had a bit of a different experience than you.  Our transfers were included with the package....so hotel transfers were not a problem.  We called National rental to pick us up at the hotel..they were there in 5 minutes.  although they had a jeep picked out for us, they allowed us to pick any available vehicle.  we picked a brand new jeep.  this is the national affiliate south of the Reef club.  they were called by the downtown office.  they were also very very friendly.
