Caballito del Caribe

Comments:    We thorougly enjoyed the six days we dove with Adrian of Caballito del Caribe.  He exhibited a level of service that is rare on Cozumel; giving special attention to the newbies in the group while still taking the time to point out the tiniest specimens (that man has eagle eyes!) of
juvenile marine life I'd never have seen were it not for him.  He went out of his way to bring us to reefs that were not swarming with other divers, and to make sure we saw everything we hoped we'd see.  He is very saftey conscious, and protective ( & knowledgeable) of the marine environment.  We all learned from him.  He is a true asset to this operation.    Most of our diving was done on the small, fast boat, la Tranca, but even when windy conditions closed the harbor to small boats, Caballito came through with the huge Samarai.  Twenty-some divers met her at
the 'caleta', and while it was a real cattle drive on board,  Adrian took our group of five to a separate reef so we didn't have to fight the crowds underwater.   My only criticism is that la Tranca & Samurai are in need of some quality repairs (or replacement).  I hope that the business will consider reinvesting some of their profits in their equipment.

Comments: This was my first ocean dive experience and had just been certified last spring and had only been diving in local area lakes during the summer.  This was a great experience.  Adrian was our divemaster (I would recommend that you request him if you dive with Cabalito del Caribe) - he took me under his wing and taught me so much about diving, safety, sea life, etc.  He was my buddy most of the week and showed me some really cool things.  He took a roll of film with his underwater camera for my husband and I (with us in the pictures).  I saw a ton of really cool things including a nurse shark, sting rays, eagle rays, barracuda, octopus, splendid toad fish, eels, jelly fish, trumpet fish, huge grouper and parrot fish, beatiful angle fish and queen angle fish, arrow crab, lobster and crab, etc.  The list is endless.  The night dive was amazing.  Adrian took me by the hand and made sure I was comfortable and safe the entire trip.  Poncho was our boat captain and did a gre
at job of getting our gear on board safely, getting us set up between dives, and he was always waiting for us right where we surfaced - I don't know how they can find us out there, but he was always there.  I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful experience.  I will definitely request them again the next trip to Cozumel!

Can't lose with Caballito del Caribe www.seahorsecozumel.com   small, fast boats - one day my 3 friends and I were the only ones on!!  It was amazing diving - sharks, Eagle rays, baracuda, a huge pompano, lobster big enough to feed a family of four with leftovers!  Have a great time and tell them Maria Pecosa sent you!

I've known Luis and Maribel (the owners) for over 12 years and they are THE BEST!!  I send all of my friends there.  Dee is correct!

I've been diving with them for over 5 years. Luis and Maribel run a very safe operation. The DM's are excellent and are willing to take you to ALL the sites...far north as well as far south. I can recommend them highly enough.

Caballito del Caribe is a great small shop.  The divemasters are very flexible while being professional.  500 psi. and agreed maximum depth.
Very enjoyable.  Small boats.  Dived with them 3 times.

I've been diving with them for several years. They are very safety conscious, have excellent Divemasters who will make sure a new diver has a great experience. They run several 8-pak boats. Check them out at: http://www.seahorsecozumel.com/

On the other hand, there are several good dive ops on the island. Dive with Martin, and Sea Urchin get a lot of good reports. Alot of folks dive with Papa Hogs but I've read that Papa can be hard to deal with, you need to do business with Mama Hog. I don't know, I've never dived with them.

We've been diving with Caballito's for 4 years...very safe, small groups and very knowledgeable about the reefs. You can see their website at: http://www.seahorsecozumel.com/ You'll find their email there.
