Cantamar Condominium Reviews
Comments: We enjoyed the layout of the unit and the property. The beds and
pillows should be replaced (worn). Everything else was good! Location was
good, within a mile from town. It was a great place to relax!! Posted on March 14, 2003 Hi Alex and Jidan, Just wanted to let you know that everything went extremely well during our week on Cozumel. The condo was exceptional. Marlin Rental (and Fulvio) really came through with a good vehical (with seatbelts) as we'd hoped/requested. Please express our thanks to Fulvio and Marlin for this. They dropped off and picked up very promptly as well. Cantamar #303 is a jewel. The people who own this unit are not only very lucky, but the extent they've gone to in decorating and theming this unit is unbelievable. The location to town is one of the best things about this place too and we loved our walks in the evening. Thanks again for all your help. You are very responsive and thorough and it is a pleasure working with you. We are happy to serve as references if you'd like. Alan and Family Northfield, MN
Please note: 402 is no longer for rent until further notice. Comments: Stayed 6 nights in 402 Great spot with a great view. Everything was clean and had no problems. We rented a car for the week, and that worked out great also. We were up early every day to go diving, and having wheels really saved us some headaches, not to mention going out to eat at some out of the way places.
Comments: This was one of the best places I've ever stayed in. If you want a jaw dropping view of the water and a clean comfortable condo then this is the place for you. My wife and I loved Cantamar 502. Travelnotes was easy to work with and very friendly. You gotta try this place, it's really more than we expected. Great for a family or just 2 people. It has two full bathrooms and a washer/dryer. I won't stay anywhere else in Cozumel again but Cantamar!
Comments: We had a great time.
Comments: the cantamar gets a vert good review from us. recently i took my two daughters aged 19 and 20 to cozumel. although i had been to cozumel many times, it was their first trip there. since i was footing the whole bill, i wanted to try a place that was a little more economical than the condos i usually stay at. the cantamar turned out to be great. we had a one-bedroom ( 402) and we all loved it. mimi and luis were great and instantly helpful if needed. i would definitely recommend the cantamar. we became friendly with the people staying in 401 next to us and saw that unit as well. it was great also. excellent value for people who like to "condo it" on cozumel !!
Comments: June,09 2002. We stayed 10 days in Cantamar Condo's, 7nights in
201 and 3 nights in 303. Very nice experience in both. 201 was a great
location and had the overhang to keep the heat of the day and late afternoon
off the porch. 303 was just redecorated in a fabulous Mexican flair. Both met
our expections for quality, but 303 had a really nice artistic touch. We had a
nice surprise when Fulvio met us at the airport, gave us the keys, and then
pointed us to a quick taxi. For the first week, we had Maria as a cook. We
would highly recommend this option. Very cost effective and a great way to
sample local dishes. Maria and her niece were outstanding cooks, and really
made our breakfeast and dinner an experience. Always had more than we could
eat. Even the kids polished off every morsal on thier plates. We all enjoyed
the pool and snorkeling off the dock. Really surprised at the sealife all
along the wall. Luis and Sandra kept the grounds and condo in very nice
shape and Selina the house security cat kept the place safe and sound.
This was the first time we stayed on this side of the island and we really
like the proximity of Cantamar from town. We also had the chance to go
to the public beach at Playa Azul, very nice experience and great sand. We
used Papa Hogs all week as our daughter obtained her diving certification, and
even our 9 year old son was able to take advantage of a resort diving course
so we all had one heck of a week on the reefs. Needless to say, Papa and his
crew lived up to their reputation, excellent for all types of divers and
snorklers. Took a nice break and went to the mainland to explore the ruins of
Coba and Tulum. We rented a car in Playa and it was a very educational and fun
day. If you have the time, we would recommend this trip. Walking into the
jungle at COBA and then climbing the pyramid to the top where you are above
the jungle is quite an experience. Then, on the way back, go to Tulum on the
coast for a quick dip in the ocean on your hot afternoon return. I
think we were thousands of years ago. We did use a guide in Coba which really
helped us understand what we were seeing. Back on the island, we were
dissappointed that Chakannaub has been raised to $10 per person and has turned
into a commercialized outing. Almost like going to seaworld. I guess that's
the price of tourism and cruise ships. Still very pretty grounds and
snorkeling. Due to our cook , we only dined at a few restaurents, but El
Morro and Pancho's Backyard will see our return next year. The kids loved the
location, feel, food and service at El Morro. As you can see, we
did not have a very good time, we will have to try harder next year. Alex at
Travelnotes, thanks for the one stop shopping. We will use you next time. From: Ted on 06/04/02 Hi Alex We really enjoyed the condo. We will use travelnotes again.Hopefullt ay Akumal. Thanks Ted Posted on 03/19/02 by Alan Dear Alex and Travelnotes, Thanks again,
Comments: My husband and I made our first trip to Cozumel in 2002 and hope
to go many more times! It was the perfect vacation spot and managed to
exceed all our expectations. From Brenda Cooper on 02/25/02 Hi Brian, My boys and I truly enjoyed staying at the Cantamar. It is very roomy, right on the ocean, and convenient to town. It was exactly what we needed for a family of 5! The views from the master bedroom and the living room are spectacular! Floor to ceiling glass with sliding doors and a balcony off of both rooms! You can lie in your bed or on the couch and see the boats and cruise ships go by..it is beautiful. The bedrooms are large as is the living room and dining room combinations. They are fully furnished with everything you need to live comfortably. The maid service is very good and they even came later for us as we like to sleep in a bit in the mornings. They also supply water in one of those large water fountain type containers. I also enjoyed the quietness of the Cantamar. Only 8 units in the whole place I believe, which makes the day quieter! The Cantamar is located on the main road to town. It is about 1 1/2 miles from town, but taxis' come by every few minutes and will gladly give you a ride. Or, if you wish, you can walk. Although, it is hot and sometimes the mosquitoes are bad. Don't forget to take bug spray! The cost is about $1.00 per person to ride to town. I have looked at lots of places to stay in Cozumel, and for the money, I don't think you will beat the Cantamar, if you are looking for Condo's. The snorkeling in front of the Cantamar is outstanding! I have been to Dzul Ha and La Ceiba, but enjoyed snorkeling more in front of the Cantamar. The downside is no real beach, which should be one of the first things you decide when going to Cozumel. You have to chose between having a beach or having good snorkeling. If you want a beach where you walk out into the water with a sandy shore, the Cantamar may not be what you want. Their beach is just sand with nice chairs and cabanas. The water, even at the shore, is about 12-15 feet deep. You must enter by the ladder, steps, or jumping off the dock! If you want a real beach, then check out some of the hotels in town, or on the South side of town. The Cantamar also has a nice swimming pool right beside the sandy beach, overlooking the ocean. My husband and I just got back from Coz in January and we stayed at the Coral Princess Hotel. It was just us two and I did not plan on cooking at anytime! The Princess is VERY nice and is located about a mile further down North from the Cantamar. It is an outstanding hotel with excellent service, but it is just that, a hotel. You can get suites which are also nice, but more expensive than the Cantamar. My sons and I hope to go back this summer and plan to stay at the Cantamar again. I've already talked with Jidan. For us, its just perfect! Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll be glad to help! I love Cozumel and enjoy making someone else's trip as wonderful as mine have been. Have a Blessed Day,
Comments: Hello Alex and Jidan, Posted by Terri on 07/30/01 We stayed there a few years ago (four maybe). I think we were in #303 - the one with the jacuzzi on the balcony. The condo itself was very nice, very clean, and in a nice location from town. A good walk or a quick taxi ride. The pool was good size, but was cold (we were there in January). The man made beach is great for lounging and the diving/snorkeling right off the dock is excellent. From Ashley on June 24, 2001 Hello Jidan! We just got back from Cozumel a few days ago and everything went great! Cantamar Condos are perfect and we will use them next time we go. Fernando of Manta Raya Divers was also great. The best dive operation I've been with. What do I need to do to post a few reviews of my trip like my accomodations, dive operator, and restaurants? I'd love to post some. Ashley From Brenda Cooper on June 11, 2001 Hi Jidan, Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our vacation in Cozumel. As for the unit itself, it was very nice. Great views and beautifully furnished! We enjoyed the location close to town and especially the snorkeling in front of the condo. We went every day, several times a day, and LOVED it so much! I could not believe how beautiful the coral heads and rock formations were. We saw many different types of sea life, including an octopus, parrot fish, blue tangs, star fish, hog fish, toad fish, small stingrays, and LOTS of eels hiding in their dens. The water was incredible clear and enjoyable! We snorkeled at Dzul Ha and in front of the La Ceiba hotel, but loved our place most of all! My sons also enjoyed diving off of the dock! It was really just perfect for us. We truly enjoyed our first visit to Cozumel. The people are so friendly and polite, even though we do not speak Spanish very well, we still managed to communicate. All of the food we ate was delicious! Also, the map you sent of the island was excellent! We hope to come back next year and stay at the Cantamar again. Thank you so much for making our vacation so special! It was a pleasure to work with you and TravelNotes. Thank you, From Lee Mitchell & family on May 29, 2001 Hi Jidan, Posted by Di on 06/19/00 We stayed at Cantamar. Very nice!!!! Pool. Right on the ocean, but no beach. There are steps down into the water. Right on the main road, easy to get a taxi. | Condos & Villas Reviews | Lodging Reviews | Hotel Reviews | Easy
