Iguanas/Ranas Sur Reviews
Comments: Just returned from 5 days at Villas Iguanas and Ranas.
There were 20 of us, all adults. We all agreed that we would bring the kids
along on the next visit. You can't believe this place. The
structures are so unique. They easily accommodated all 20 us, providing
each couple with their own room and private bath.We were still finding
unexplored rooms the day we left! The staff was very accommodating, the
rooms were cleaned daily and the food was great! We had the house
stocked with food and beverages prior to our arrival. This worked out very
well, since the last thing we wanted to do was go to the grocery store!
Comments: Great place for large group-especially if you have a lot of divers like we did. We had 27 people 9 in Ranas, 10 in Iguanas and 8 rented another house next door. We could have fit more people in the Ranas/Iguanas but some of the single guys wanted their own room. The bedrooms were very nice-each had its own bathroom and A/C. The pool was really great too. The place did show some signs of wear. The hot tub barely had any bubbles coming out of it and the indoor water fall that was supposed to be running in Ranas looked like it had not been operating for some time. But, all in all it’s a very nice place. A few must do's included getting the meal program and hiring a bartender-both were VERY reasonably priced. Leo's team cooked us breakfast & dinner everyday. The food was great! We hired a guy names Luis to bartend every afternoon and that made sitting by the pool everyday a real pleasure. He had the blender running all afternoon making all kinds of tropical drinks. We used another man named Luis (a dive master at Paradise Dive shop) to show us the best underwater spots. He was able to pick us up at the dock right on the corner of the property! The 2 major knocks on the place were that it didn't have a sand beach & it was 8 miles from town. But those didn't keep us from having a great time. Just be sure to rent a Jeep or car- a lot of the guys with mopeds said they’d rather have had a Jeep and there are lots of beaches near by if you really want to lie on the sand. Posted by Sandy on 01/26/02 Some friends of ours have stayed there the past two years and my husband and I would spend time there with them. This year we are staying there - actually in 27 days we will be there:) We have snorkeled there and seen quite a variety of sea life. However I would suggest staying to the right of the ladder because there is quite a bit of boat traffic in and out of the Reef Club pier. Also you can take a short walk to the left and use the beach which was nice. | Condos & Villas Reviews | Lodging Reviews | Hotel Reviews | Easy
