Club del Sol

I stayed briefly at the Club Del Sol hotel (near El Presidente) hoping to save a few bucks- March 2000. What a dump. This reminded me of King Louie's 'palace' in The Jumgle Book. I moved out after discovering a black hairy Tarantula in the bed next to mine!

Club del Sol is a moderately priced divers hotel. Clean, No frills, No TV, (who needs it in Cozumel) No phone in rooms. Does have AC. About 4 miles south of town, across the street from the beach. Good snorkelling reef (Dzul Ha). No swimming pool, just a wading pool in front. A decent breakfast but never ate dinner there. We always ate dinner at all the great restaurants in town. Friendly staff. Ocean view rooms don't have balconies. Garden rooms have balconies. Five or six dollar cab ride to town 1 way. Quiet at nite.

We were too busy diving, snorkeling, swimming, walking around town, & exploring the rest of island to spend much time in the room except to sleep & shower.
