There is a little town at El Cedral.  It is south, just about across from the Allegro.

Some small shops, a few houses.  Big party for Cinco de Mayo.

On my last trip to Coz. we visited the other side. On our way over, we passed a sign saying El Cedral the first city on Coz. Well, with a sign like that and my inquisitive nature....were off to El Cedral. It's a quiet little village with some Mayan ruins, which we did not see, and a few shops. The one I found most interesting was a little place on the lsft just as you enter the town (don't blink). It is run by Mitos and his family. Mitos has been written up in several news articles. He not only creates jewelry from black coral, but in his younger days actually dove for the coral to depth's of 330 feet...WOW! If you stop at his shop, take time to talk to him. He is only too happy to talk about diving and may show you around the new home he is building and his beautiful flower and veggie. gardens. He is very proud of his family,that all work there with him, and his business and home. Just a little side trip that took about an hour and to us was worth every minute.....enjoy.....Bob
