Asian Garden

JUMP TO NEW REVEIWS

Asian Garden proprietor's name is Raymond. He's a friendly host and serves great food.  Get him to tell you one of his fascinating stories of life in Hong Kong.  I would say definitely authentic.

Comments: I recently took a week long vacation to Cozumel. Of course I spent a good bit of time researching on travelnotes before I went.  I was shocked to find a bad review on this restaurant!

Being of Chinese descent, I didn't expect to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Mexico.  I was shocked to find this restaurant better than most restaurants in the states!  The tropical dishes were very good there - my favorite was the Pineapple Chicken.  My dive buddies also liked Walnut Shrimp and Scallop and the Black Bean Gouper dishes.

I am very health conscious and was delighted to find that the food was fresh and not very greasy.  Overall I was impressed with the food quality. Prices are comparable to the states ... the grouper dish was a bit expensive, but definitely worth getting after seeing them on the dives.

Comments: My husband and I decided to try this restaurant; we found it odd that there was a Chinese restaurant in Cozumel so it piqued our interest!  We had the corn/chicken soup which was excellent and my husband had the seafood combo and I ordered the pan fried noodles!  We had so much food that we couldn't finish it!

Raymond (the owner) is very nice and friendly.  He has a wonderful little dog (a Dachsund) named "Lucky" who is the sweetest thing - in fact, Lucky was one of the reasons we were "lured" in to eat there!  Good food, great service...a bit pricey but nice nonetheless.

Comments: I normally don't write restaurant reviews as I generally agree with what is already written. However, in this case, I very much disagree with the positive reviews posted.

My wife and I recently spent a week in CZM and were able to enjoy many restaurants while there, including Asian Garden. We are of Asian decent and have to admit that this restaurant served the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. The food was not only tasteless, but also prepared incorrectly. It is ironic since the owner claims to own a successful Chinese restaurant in Atlanta.

Furthermore, the price was more expensive than your typical Chinese restaurants in the States. Makes sense since every ingredient has to be imported. This is applicable with all restaurants in CZM, so prepare your wallet.

The Food and Atmosphere at the Asian Garden is Excellent. I know some would say "why would someone want Asian Food on Cozumel," well some of us spend a lot of Time Vacationing or living on the Island and this Restaurant is a welcome site. The preparation is Second to None, a very large selection on the menu will meet anyone's taste. I highly recommend trying this lovely place. You will walk away very full and will be glad you tried it. Nick F

Asian Garden opened a couple of months ago and offers a tranquil oasis from the hustle of downtown San Miguel. Step inside and you're transported to a beautiful (and large!) garden complete with cascading waterfall, huge trees and (we were told) 10 turtles. Soft lighting and music add to the soothing environment. The food was excellent, everything made with fresh ingredients from traditional, authentic Chinese recipes. We were told that Asian cruise ship crew members have become regulars there, and it's no wonder. If you're looking for a totally relaxing dining experience in an unforgettable atmosphere, don't miss it.
