Comments: We had a table right on the water. It was in the evening, and very beautiful. The entire staff was fabulous, and the Lobster bisque was to die for. My sweetheart , and I had a wonderful meal. I highly recommend it.

Comments: We had a party of 8, with 6 adults and 2 children. The lobster were small and very expensive. My son asked to use their phone and the owner yelled at me to get out of his office. He was sooo rude and never apologized. I had one margarita which was awful. I walked out after paying about $300.00. I do not recommend it. Maricela

Comments: I agree with the last comment.  We were VERY disappointed.  The food is not very good for the high prices they charge.  The service "pardon me" but, it sucked.  Not recommended at all !

Comments: We ate at the lobster cove a few years back and had a good meal but went this week and it was a serious let down.  For one it was really expensive and overpriced for what you get. I ordered the steak and lobster tail and my wife ordered the lobster tail. My steak was dinky and her lobster was expensive and small. We left hungry and angry. We asked for our bread that we were supposed to get with the meal and the host said it would be a few minutes.  I found that odd that they would serve the meal before bringing the bread. I waited for the bread but my food was just getting cold so I started to eat. After a few more minutes I asked the waiter for bread since the host said it would be a few minutes and he said they don't have any so I figured we were lied to and cheated.  To make matters even worse this crappy overpriced meal cost us $58 dollars USD. As it turns out they add their own 15 percent tip into the meal which I find disgusting practice as I believe tipping s
hould come from the customer based on services and product rendered and not self given.  We would never eat there again. We love the food in Cozumel and know some restaurants are pricier then others and that’s O.K because it is what you get, but we really felt cheated at this place.

Comments:
We were quite eager to eat here, as Lobster Cove has quite a lovely location in a breezy palapa by the ocean, and the atmosphere did not disappoint.  Unfortunately, it is a restaurant, and so should probably ultimately be judged by its food.  The problem is that the food really didn't taste very good.  This was exacerbated by the food's texture: decidedly chewy.  Almost rubbery.  It was alright that the calamari was rubbery (they are always a bit rubbery - but these calamari didn't taste very good, either); it was not alright that the lobster tail, fish fillet and steak were also rubbery.  We were the only people there that night until a couple walked in, which made us feel a bit less sorry for Lobster Cove, and Cozumel overall is very quiet at the moment, so perhaps they were having an off-night; still, we had much better meals at much better prices elsewhere.

Just got back from Cozumel and we ate at the Cove for our 20th anniversary. Can't say enough about the service and the food. Great steak and lobster. The view from our table inside was one that we will resurrect in our memory when we need to mentally escape from the pressures of everyday life. Great sunset, blue water and the large cruise ship with their lights on in background. It was a picture perfect ending to our trip to Paradise.

Comments: We went in with a group of 12; the view is lovely, right on the water.  The kids enjoyed feeding bread to the fish until the food arrived.  We ordered appetizers of melted cheeze served with tortillas and wonderful ceviche.  My husband and I shared the seafood plate for two.  It was a nice mix of shrimp, lobster, calamari and fish -- ample portions for about $50 US.  The bill for 2 with drinks was about $80 -- for a very nice meal with an excellent view and good service.

Re: Lobster House/Lobster Cove

If I remember which is which, Lobster House (11th & Melgar)and Cove is in the North Hotel Zone? Prices were comparable.

"House" is bigger and slightly more upscale with an ocean view. They offered several options for preparing your dinner. I prefer boiled in seawater (I hoped that meant bottled water with the correct percentage of sea salt not a bucket that was dipped out the back door 'cause they're kinda close to the docks). What was most impressive, when we first went in there was beautifull soft guitar music coming from small but good speakers around the resturant. I was halfway done with my cocktail and perusing the menu when I noticed that on the other side of the dining area was a small stage and the music was live! Whomever he was (don't remember the name), but he was world class. It was so good I had assumed that it was mood music on CD being piped around. Food and service were excellent.

"Cove" also has excellent food and service, but different ambiance. Smaller and more intimate it's shrouded in foliage and surrounded by a pond. A group of us had dinner here Millenium New Year's Eve. My little 5-2 Minnesota wife picked out the biggest tail they had and the waiter said "That is for two, Yes?" Living more than a thousand miles from the nearest lobster habitat, she said "Oh no, this one's aaallll mine". Good thing she doesn't read this Board or she'd be chewing a different kind of tail.

Charges are by the weight of the tail you select. There are some tails the size of small dogs too!
The tails are boiled in sea water and served with fresh steamed veggies, GREAT bread, and real butter.  They mix some mean drinks there too.
All candlelight. Very nice!

Comments: My husband and I decided that even though we were staying at an all-inclusive we would have a nice dinner out for Valentine's Day.  I really wanted some lobster which is something you can not get at an all-inclusive no matter which one it is.  The MLT tour recommended the Lobster Cove resturant, so we thought we would give it a try.
The menu really doesn't give you much to select from since it is only about a dozen thing written on a chalk board.  Would have been a lot easier to read with bi-focals in dim light if it had been a standard paper menu, but that's the way it goes.
My husband ordered a mexican dish which was just okay,  and I ordered a shrimp cocktail and a lobster tail.  Neither impressed me in the least, and I didn't even finish the lobster.  I've eatten better at Red Lobster for far less money than we spent at the Lobster Cove.

Many resteraunts serve lobster of course but for correct preparation and VALUE you just can't beat LOBSTER COVE...it's right beside Barracuda Hotel and has a great ambiance under that big palapa roof!!  They also have an island quartet that plays wind instruments/percussion/guitar that is very nice.

Way overpriced and food mediocre.  We heard they had a huge menu and so we expected all types of seafood.  We were disappointed when we saw a menu that is just a large board with about a dozen entries on it, all expensive.  We got the famous Coconut Shrimp which were tough and chewy and coated in coconut.... my daughter, a shrimp lover only at a few and then said yuck.  They cost $19 so I was not happy!!  I ordered a fish that turned out to be coated in dried coconut also and then covered in sweet syrupy sauce.  Couldn't eat it.  My husband ordered shrimp and lobster and his food was okay but he said not worth the price.   What a disappointment.  Save your money.

Re: WHERE IS THE MOST ROMANTIC PLACE TO EAT?

Hi, I'm not sure what type of setting you prefer, but I really thought the Lobster Cove was very romantic and pretty. You can sit outside or sit by the window inside and look at the view. It may be a little too loud for some people..they were playing pretty loud music..Sting, Sade, etc..but it was something different! I hear the sunsets are beautiful from the restaraunt at the Presidente..(gosh, I can't remember the name!) It has received good reviews from the press, but mixed reviews from the people on this board and other boards I have visited. It is a little more on the formal side and I hear the service is great. Have a great, romantic time. I am already planning my next trip.

The Lobster Cove (just past town and toward the cruise ship docks) is outstanding.  W

We ate at the Lobster Cove for dinner at it was GREAT!!  I am a seafood person, so I was in heaven. First, I think the restaurant is fairly new and it is very clean and charming. When we arrived it was about 7:30 and it was pretty empty, but it filled up quickly as the night progressed. They played great music in the background and later had live music. There were three of us and we ordered the following:

WARNING..the three of us have enormous appetites. I don't think three "normal" people could eat this much food..they give you tons! We started off with some chilled King Crab legs and they were great. We then had two bowls of the Seafood soup....it is various types of seafood in a tomato type broth and it is wonderful. We then split the Seafood Platter for two which consisted of grilled fish, two lobster tails, shrimp, calamari, octopus and I think oysters. They have some unusual sauces to dip your seafood but BEWARE of the "habenero sauce." I have a very strong tolerance to hot foods, but this...well I thought it was great but I think it briefly paralyzed the left side of my face! (I'm kidding, but it is hot.) We each had several drinks (try a Malibu,..it is Malibu rum and pineapple juice) and the total was about $80. To get this kind and this quality of food in the US would have cost much more so please go if you love seafood. Great atmosphere and staff. Tell Alex we said hello!! (sweet waiter)
