Restaurant Reviews Pancho's Backyard
Comments: : Pancho's Backyard was the nicest, tastiest place I ate on the Island. I liked it so much that I ate there twice! Service was great! Plus they accept Credit Cards!
Comments: Wow what a great meal and Fun Time. Food is excellent ........and Shopping inside the Building was Excellent.
Comments: We had lunch before it got busy. I had chili rellenos and the wife had chips and gucamole. She says its the best guac she's ever had. The chili rellenos weren't what I'm use to in the states. The service was great.
Comments: The Margarita's were killer, very tastyand extremely strong! The best Margarita's ever. The food was good and the serbice was fantastic. We sat outside and were treated to marimba players. This was a nice afternoon stop, one of the highlights on our vacation. Posted by pato on 12/06/03 would have to be Pancho's Backyard, very peaceful and classey with great
food. And Guido's on the patio in back. Wonderful Italian with a great mix of
seafood and pizza. We took friends to both last week the they really enjoyed
the atmosphere. LIked shopping at Cinco Soles before dinner at Pancho's too!
Comments: My wife and I enjoyed a late afternoon drink and snack at Pancho's. The atmosphere is gorgeous: up-scale tropical with twinkling lights, a tropical plant wall with the sound of water falling into a small pond. Eat, drink, or just visit (next door to Cinco Soles store) to drink in the beautiful atmosphere.
Comments: Pancho's Backyard is located in the back of Los Cinco Soles, a department store on the strip. The food was excellent, the staff wonderfully friendly, and the Mango Margaritas perfect. We loved the atmosphere, there's a little garden right in the restaurant, and pretty fairy lights all over the place. It was a little pricey (the large margaritas are $9 each) but we felt it was worth the price for such a good meal and beautiful atmosphere.
Comments: I love Pancho's Backyard! This was our second visit, and I'm hoping for many more. The ambience deserves a 10+. Beautiful. Tasteful. And authentically Mexican down to the El Palomar dishes. We had free margaritas thanks to the coupon I printed off from their website. Then they brought out chicken flautas with a guacamole dipping sauce. I had the fish of the day which was a beautiful presentation. My husband had shrimp on skewers which was served on the cute little grill. We both had dessert. Bill was $58 including tip. Great value for an upscale place! I think our server must have been new. They were not crowded, but he paced the service a little fast making us feel somewhat rushed. A minor complaint. Pancho's is on our "every year" list.
Comments: I was glad we could make it back here to this
lovely, romantic place with outstanding food and gracious service. My
pina colada was the best I had on the island. The black bean &
tortilla soups are delicious, and my husband enjoyed his Mexican
combination plate as much as I did
Comments: Located on the south end of Cozumel, by the cruise piers, in the
back of Los Cinco Soles, (great shop for gifts, also.)
Comments: Food was great. Place is very nice, including patio. I was under the impression it was inexpensive, but it is not. We had both Mexican and seafood, all of it was great. Still recommend it, just don't expect to get out cheap.
Comments: We cruise every year and we most stop in Cozumel for one reason
only. To sit in te courtyard of Pancho's Backyard, listen to beautiful music,
people watch and devour the absolute best guacamole on this earth.
Comments: Best mexican food I have ever had! Very good presentation. The staf was 10+++++. Great service, food and atmosphere... Will be back again!
Comments: My husband and I were on our honeymoon when we were shopping around in Cozumel when we found this hidden resturant. Panchos Backyard had the best mexican food we have ever had. The food was terrific and the fish bowl margaritas were the best I have ever tasted. After one we were a little tipsy. I recommend this resturant to everyone. We are looking forward to planning another trip to Cozumel so we can eat there again!
Comments: My husband and I ate there when our cruise ship docked there in June 2002. It was great food and I loved the backyard deck. We ate inside though because of the heat. we were happy to find somewhere that had air conditioning..
Comments: Good food here but a bit pricey. Worth visiting just to see the place. Part is set up as a courtyard outside (still under roof). It can be a bit hard to find for people who are not familiar with San Miguel. Just ask where the Cinco Soles store is. Panho's is in the rear of the store.
Comments: We were in Cozumel for 7 days and we ate here twice. The service is out of this world. Very friendly and they did not rush you through your meal. The food was excellent and the presentation was unique. Try and bypass the awesome shops that surround the restaurant. My wife really rang up a big bill in those shops.
Comments: Terrific atmosphere and the waiters here treat you like royalty. Larry had Chili Rellenos, stuffed with plantain and nuts. Very cool. I had the shrimp kabob and it came with a little grill to the table. Again with the coconut ice cream. This is the place to go for some peace and quiet. I love it. Our meal and drinks here came to about $50US, including tip.
Comments: panchos is a great place to stop, shop and eat. there isn't much of a choice for kids, but they won't starve. be sure to have the black bean soup. they recipe is in the matchbooks. the menu mentions that they love birthdays, and being a birthday loving kid, my 16 yr old decided to tell them that it was her birthday (not!). well, she may never do that again even though we enjoyed it thoroughly! give the birthday surprise a try! panchos is a very relaxing place with good food (we were there at lunch time), no complaints
Comments: We went to Panchos backyard for dinner. I had the Plantain and walnut stuffed chile rellenos, I personally would never order it again. My mother had the beef kebobs it was pretty good. My husband had the grilled shrimp which was excellent. I wish I would have had enough cense to order it. We all had Margarita's which were the best Margarita's I have ever had. Make sure you order the big glass you won't be sorry. The service was excellent. They had waterfalls in the back which was very nice. I highly recommend this place. Posted by R&R on 11/13/01 I agree French Qtr is awesome and very romantic. That would have been my first choice for romantic spots but she didn't mention it as a choice. I was trying to keep it a secret!!! Shhh!!!robin Posted by Cara on 10/25/01 may have just been that one night, but Prima wasn't that great the one time we went. Panchos had great service, atmosphere and food. Posted by Laura on 09/29/01 My husband and I went to Poncho's Backyard for our anniversary. It was very romantic. We were watching the rain fall and it was lovely. Unfortunately, it was on September 11th so our minds were in America thinking of all the tragedy that occurred that day. Posted by Tom & Tracy on 08/22/01 My wife and I have been to Cozumel twice in the last year (16 days total) , and have eaten at most of the better known restaurants in town. The food, service and atmosphere at Pancho's Backyard are hard to beat. This is by far our favorite restaurant on the island. P.S. Don't forget to try their Margaritas! Posted by Jamie on 07/09/01 My husband and I ate there last Friday evening. The food, as well as the service, was great. A very pretty/romantic setting. Posted by larry on 03/09/01 Great food and absolutely the best, smoothest margaritas my wife and I have ever had - make them with special ingredients - they were amazing - nice staff and atmosphere too - Larry Posted by Panchita on 03/09/01 It's a lovely restaurant... with a great, relaxing ambiance, and I love the wall sconces with the different colored pieces of glass - wonder where they got those? I aways order WAY too much food there though... Posted by Terri on 10/15/00 Pancho's Backyard is romantic...+ at least I thought so. It is inside of Cinco Sol (sp). Very nice and the food was very good. Posted by Marti/Little Rock on 10/05/00 We enjoyed a great meal at Pancho's (Sept 00). The food was very good
and the service was excellent without being overbearing. Our waiter-Aristo-was
there to light your cigarette before you could even get your lighter
out...amazing. I had the grilled shrimp and my friend had the lobster and
the food was very good. Try it you'll like it!!!!! Posted by KJSFA93@aol.com on 09/20/00 Myself and my wife visited Pancho's Backyard on our recent honeymoon when our cruise ship the Norwegian Sea ported in Cozumel. The cruise director told us about Panchos and we made the short walk. What a fantastic meal it was. Being from Texas, we are both experts on TexMex food and have eaten at our share of so called Mexican resturants. Following the one meal at Panchos, Mexican food in the states will never be the same. The staff, atmosphere, price and last but not least the food was fantastic. I am on the net now trying to find a good trip back to Cozumel so that we can go back to Pachos next summer. In short, if you make the trip all the way to Cozumel, do not leave that island without trying Pancos. I promise that you will be like me and be on the web very soon after your return, trying to find a way back to that fantastic food. Panchos' Backyard is wonderful, it cost $160 for
8 people, beautiful resteraunt and great food! And the waiters are really
great! Back to Restaurant Reviews "Say you saw it on TravelNotes.cc!"
