Comments: My daughters (ages 21 and 23 years) and I had the opportunity
to
take the wild ATV Tour ride. We had a wonderful time!!!! I must admit
it
was more than I bargained for, but would I do it again --- absolutely!!!
The weather was a little rough, so we were not able to do the entire
excursion (snorkle and kayake). We went to the beautiful beach and swan.
We also rode to the sites of other ruins. Our guides were great. The group
was small (5 bikes), so we got alot of individual attention. It was the
ultimate journey and I recommend it to everyone. Just make sure you do
not
have any back injuries that will possibly slow you down. It is just what
it
says "A WILD ATV RIDE".

Comments: We had a blast! Out of all the excusions that we took while on
our cruise, the ATV ride was our favorite. The snorkeling was like a beautiful
aquarium. You do have to be in good shape to ride, it can get a little crazy!
But it's so much fun!

Comment....
Hi There,
My husband and I took a wild tour on May 24th
and I wanted to send a comment since we forgot to leave one in the book at the
location in Cozumel.
We have never had so much fun as we did on the
tour. I have recommended it to anyone who will listen since we've gotten
back from our trip. Our guides were Ailene and Adolpho and they made our
day a ton of fun and kept it very interseting with the bits of Mayan history
at the ruins.
Keep up the great job and next time we are down,, we are going to do it
again!
Sincerely,
Brigette & Bryan Dougay

I took the tour in Jan and really liked it,the guides were great.I dont
think that you could have a bunch of people just doing there own thing back on
the trails, they would get lost or maybe hurt.If you dont do the kayak part its
69 bucks.

flying through the jungle by just that light and seeing the ruins by
moonlight is nothing short of spiritual. teh beaches by moonlight is

a blast. my wife rode the back and did not complain once!!!!! she

STAY AWAY from the ATV tour
We took the ATV tour last year... don't remember the
name but it is the one that leaves from right next to Mezcalito's. VERY
disappointed, would NOT recommend it. Spend the money and do something else.
It was very canned, rushed, and there was ZERO room for anything outside of
the packaged tour.
Your ride north through the jungle gives you three or four good looks at the
ocean during the 40 minute, very dusty, hot ride. Forget stopping at any time
to relax and look at anything that you will inevitably run across. Iguanas,
small turtles, and several avian species are everywhere but if you stop for
more than 30 seconds, you are 'greeted' by the guide following up the rear who
politely asks you to move along and keep up when she discovers that there is
nothing wrong with your ATV.
There was a brief stop at on of the Mayan ruins that offered a beautiful view
of the carribbean. The one guide along on the trek was educated in Mayan
culture and lore and offered some interesting history on the location.
Your destination is a pretty beach flanked on each side by more trash and crap
than what you will find on the 'beach' area across from the Bob Marley Bar.
You are offered warm soda or water to rinse out the dust.
Your next leg of the 'adventure' is to kayak out to the edge of the reef where
you get to look around for 10 to 15 minutes. Amazingly, the "guides"
actually got out of their kayak and walked on the reef to point out the few
fish that were there. They claimed it was ok because the parts they were
walking on were dead. I gave them very brief lesson on the term "reef
recovery" and swam off in disgust. There was more to see in front of the
Plaza Las Glorias anyway.
Two of us diverted away from the rest of the group to see if we could see
anything as most of these people were OBVIOUSLY not scuba divers, let alone
experienced snorkelers, and as such were raising all kinds of hell on the
surface. We were no more than 15 yards from the group (wearing our waterski-type
life vest that we could NOT take off), when we were abruptly corraled by one
tour guide who was apparently not too happy about our previous conversation.
We paddled back in, got cleaned up and spent another 40 minutes on the trail
back to Mezcalitos. Some kind of lunch was planned, we declined because we
were so aghast that they could charge $90 a person for this kind of tour. We
opted to head south to find our own lunch at one of the beach restaurants.
Now I'm not an experienced tour taker when it comes to things like this but if
the canned, rushed, "no flexibility allowed" is the norm for these,
then that will be the last formal tour I ever take.
I would NOT recommend the ATV tour to the north end of the island to anyone
unless you want to be told EXACTLY what to do, when do it, and for how long.

Wild Tours were wonderful!! My wife and I rode an ATV together which I
thought was kind of nice because you could talk. It cost us around $100
total and the trip took about 4 hours of time. We went at night which my
wife loved but I think that I would have liked to see the beach and the ruins in
the daylight. Checking things out by flashlight with our guide
"Jungle George" was good but I hadn't seen that side of the island
yet. One positive of the night trip is that the stars were incredible!
Note: Get on one of the first ATVs. The further back you are, the
more dust you eat. Wear some real shoes and plan on getting quite dirty.
My wife and I had a ring of dirt around where our goggles were (good photo
opp.). Last note, make sure you have some idea of how to ride an ATV. We
had a guy from Chicago who had never ridden ANYTHING. The tour lasted
about 30-45 minutes longer because he was ...SOOO...SLOW. I would do it
again & recommend the tour to others.

last year and had a blast. Worth the $95US for the two of us (we shared an
ATV) by far.
Good fun and one of the highlights of our trip in 99.
