Comments: the actual ruins left alot to be desired, but if you want a cool horseback ride thru the wood it is an excelent deal. the cruise ship wanted twice what we ended up payong thru travelnotes.cc .

we also rented a VW convertible and went to san francisco beach the wter was great and the corona beers real cold.

Jidan Kong helped us out with the reservations at travelnotes and she was great.

Comments: I was very unhappy with the turn out of our horseback ridging.
Your web site stated that the tour guides were bi-lingle - NOT! Ours only spoke spanish with made it very diffcult.

Web site also state you would be in groups of 4 to 6 - NOT! They took just me and my girl.

Then the ultimate was when our tour guide Alex, leaned over and made a pass on my 17 year, tried to kiss her.  Needless to say I was very scared going on this jungle ride.

Thanks for making arrangement for us in cozmel. Horseback riding was a great time with martina as a guide. We also got two dives with papa hogs. The one thing we did not get was a dive shirt from michelle dive shop. I will try to contact the shop and have a couple sent . If you can help this would be great and we will talk to you next time we get to cozmel.

THANKS Mike and the family of 7

Comments: The ranch which consisted of an open corral area with the horses tied to boardering trees was a bit of a shock when we first arrived. Definitely different from what you would expect in the States. The horses appeared to be a bit thin but we were given two that appeared to be well fed and healthy. The horses were also very cooperative and easy to handle. The guide was very friendly and spoke english well enough that we could carry on a fluid conversation. The ride consisted of for the most part of trail riding through heavy canopied woods. The points of interest along the trail were a bit disappointing , the fresh water spring = a small watering hole, the mayan ruin = small in size and overgrown with vegetation for the most part, the mayan cave = a small karst crevace that you had to squat down to get into-didn't stay long there because of the bats. Seventy-five percent of the ride is spent walking the trails, the other twenty-five is spent either trotting or gallopi
ng the paved road heading back to the stable. In summation, the ride was a bit of a disappointment and we would recommend seeking other ventures for your time spent on the island.

Comments: My friends and I went on the horseback riding tour at BuenaVista Ranch.  It was so much fun.  We had the best tour guides (Aldo and Carlos).  They were fun...they were friendly and made our horseback riding experience fun and informational.  The matched each of us up with the horse best suited for us.  Even people who never rode before and were scared were having fun.  They made sure everyone enjoyed themselves and got a chance to run.  Would definetly recommend this tour to friends and family.

rancho buenavista

I just wanted to let everyone know about this fun horseback riding tour we had in cozumel. Our guide Aldo was wonderful and the cost wasn't as much as some of the others. I can't wait to go back....The guide and I raced (once he learned I was an expert rider) and told me how much fun it was to see someone my age who enjoys being tough and fun, I am 49 and have riden horses most of my life. It was the best time I had. We also went to senior frogs a bar with food, as we got off the ship and what a blast, not for kids.... but adults have a great time.

Comments: All-in-all, my daughter and I enjoyed our experience.  Just a couple notes:

- The ride was about three hours long.  That's a long time on a horse in the heat and humidity.  The ground was very wet and sloppy.

- Tell the taxi driver that it's the second Rancho Palmitas!!!!!!  The first one we were taken to was not very nice.  Almost scary!

- Remember, in Mexico, their version of a "jungle" is the same as the woods in the US.  The area was beautiful, once you pass all the garbage that's located at the beginning of the National Park.

Just got back from my trip. I enjoyed our guide very much and would like to be sure and send a thank you about him. I do forget his name. The overall tour and the horses left a little to be desired but still offered an affordable different thing to do while in Mexico

From Leonardo on 12/12/00

Just got back and could only suggest two things to keep from the cliche tourist stuff. Go to the East Side and Horseback riding with Aventuras. Gayle and her family were great. Her daughter let me leave my wife behind so I could run the horse with her. They offer so many other thing, but
unfortunately we didn't have time.

Last year my when we were there my husband and I did horseback riding tour with Rancho Buenovista. We took a taxi into town and were picked up by a bus. The horses were assigned according to riding experience..the tour was into the jungle..for me the high lights were sightings of the biggest iguanas I've ever seen in my life. They showed us ruins (I'm no expert but I thought they were phoney)..but anyhow..we really enjoyed it and they took a photo of everyone individually on horseback then offered them for sale pretty reasonably priced. We really enjoyed it.

I rented a horse for my daughter all the way u north at the Paradisus. She is an avid horserider and although the horses didnt look quite the same as her horse, she did enjoy the ride. Especially after she switched horse with the guide , lol

Some of the horses on the island dont look as good as the ones you are probaly used to. BUT beware of to fast judgement, most horses are quite healthy. It is quite ok to see some ribs ( much healthier than fat horses ! ) Before I get flamed, yes there are a few bad ones, those poor fellows dont seem to get enough good food. But consider that the horses normally get well cared for, they reflect  a huge investment for the owners.

We went on the included ride back in November when we were there.  It was not the highlight of our trip but it was fun.  It was about a half hour on a gentle horse along the beach and back thru other areas.  The sad thing about it was seeing all the garbage along the beach area.
