I agree with betty, I did it two years age. Go for it. It's remarkably serene up in the air. You do not feel you're moving that fast. Excellent view of the whole island. take a camera,Enjoy!

Just got back from a week in paradise.  We had plans for all 3 of us to parasail, but when my sweet husband went to pay, he found out it was $65 pp.  He bought it for my daughter and myself.  He and I had done it about 4 yrs ago in the Bahamas and loved it.  I would say it is worth it if you can afford the $.  It is an awesome experience, at least it was for me.  I am very spiritual, so I nearly cried!  It was so quiet, my head felt so clear and I was able to think and pray as I saw all the beauty below.

We had a great time taking a cab direct ($10 I think)to Palancar beach.  No crowds, good friendly service, good food and cold beer.  Nice big Palapas with all the beach amenities.  They also had Sea Kayaks, windsurfers, jetskis, water skiing, and Scuba diving. The water there is fairly shallow so it is good for kids, windsurfing, and kayaking. The snorkeling there was nothing unless you went waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy out off the sand flats.  The diving HOWEVER, was as interesting as the diving was spectacular.  You would sign in, pay your money, and be told "about" when to expect a boat.  At this point they get on the radio, and any of smaller dive boats from San Miguel that has room, picks you up.  This way there is usually a 2 hour window of time around the normal traffic patterns, and a mere 2-5 min. boat ride out and back to you friends on the beach.  As you walk back to the Palapa for a apres-dive beer and Taco, you get to watch your buddies go on a 20 minute ride to the pier to unload.  I have a few uw photos on sirius-business.com if you want to see what I did.

Para sailing is offered all along the coast.  It costs $45.00 for a 15 minute ride.  My daughter did it and thought it was great.

My husband, 72 year old step-father, 62 year old mom & myself went while we were there.  It was great.  We went to Dzul Ha & they arranged for our trip there.  It was $45 per person.  We went around sunset, and watching the sunset from a few hundred feet up in the air is spectacular!  We have some pretty cool photos.  Have fun!
