Cozumel Trip Report

Trip report  day 1

The flight from Philadelphia to Houston to Coz went off without a hitch.Instead of waiting for the vans I walked out to the street and hailed a cab and off to the Hacienda San Miguel. The cab driver did not know where it was but I had a print out of he place and he took me right there. The hotel was far better then I expected and was greated by the lovely Angie who showed me to my room. I never met Rori but I would find it hard to believe she could be lovelier than Angie. The rooms at the Hacienda far exceded my expectations and the courtyard could not be more tranquile. I walked into town to Michelles Dive Shop to check in.I was here in Oct to get my open water certification but got sick my last day and never did my last 2 check out dives.I set up a shore dive with Kevin Holt from Michelles for the next day and went off to Playa del Carmen to meet a friend from home.Got back to Hsm and meet the friendly Stephanie who informed me that some people from travel notes were looking for me(Tut and John)but tomorrow was a nother day and I would see them at mini golf on Thursday night.

Trip report  day 2 Feb 22nd

Sorry this is taking so long but I'm trying to make money to get back as soon as I can and buy a new house at the same time.Day 2 woke up to a beautiful day in paradise and met Nicole who is one of the three girls who work at Hacienda San Miguel.Just sat on my little porch and was amazed at the beauty of the grounds again.Just loved the hummingbirds.Off to town to check into Michelles Dive Shop to set up a check out dive before by big day of my last two dives for my open water certification.Kevin told we would meet at the shop at 2:30 and go to Villa Blanca Beach to go over some skills.Went back to HSM and decided to go to Playa Azul. Grabed a cab, about 30 pesos and went to the beach. Very nice beach club and a beautiful beach probably one of the best on the island in my opinion. As I was lying on the beach I saw Tut and wife Deb walk in and went over to introduce myself. I new who he was because he posted his picture before he left on the board.Such a nice couple and we had a nice chat. Was reminded about the meeting at the mini golf and said I would see them there and was off for my dive.Dive went off well and I hope I'm ready for my big day.Back to HSM and off to the mini golf to meet my fellow board members, I've been on a few mini golfs in my time but I never saw one as beautiful as this one.I met Sally,Scott who are from my home state of PA,Sunshine,John,Cory,Jodi,Tut and Deb. Such a nice crew and I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet them all.I hadn't eaten so as the the gang played a round I took Sally's recomendation and walked one block to Sonora Grill and had the Mexican plate. Very very good eats and good prices.Angie from HSM showed up  and also played a round but I was to tired. Back to Hsm to get some rest for my big day.

Trip report  day 3 Feb 23rd

Woke up to another beautiful day.Met Tut,Deb,John,Corey, and Jody for breakfast at the Museum. Good breakfast and an even better view.Bacon was great but stay away from the sausage. After breakfast went to Michelles Dive Shop to get ready to do my last two dives for my C card. To my great suprise,Angie from HSM showed up to dive since her regular dive shop couldn't fit here on.Did I mention how lovely Angie is? The owner Bob McPherson said he could always fit a pretty girl on the boat so off we went to Pro Dive pier to do our dives.A fast boat Brain Damage II, took us out to our first dive. Palancar Horseshoe 93ft 35 min and even though my mask leaked like a sieve I knew at this point I can do this. Polo the divemaster made me feel secure and fact that Angie was there, this was the highlight of my trip. Second dive we did San Francisco Wall at 63 ft and I had much better luck with my mask. Much more of a current and I felt like I was flying, this was great.Met John,Corey and Jodi and we had dinner at Prima's which was excellent but not very Mexican. After dinner I went to Michelles to get my C card. A very proud moment indeed.
