Cozumel Trip Report

Non-diver Trip Report
Just returned from a week in Cozumel. We were very happy with suites and staff
at Villablanca. Snorkeling was good right in front of the hotel, but even
better in front of Playa Corona & Dzul Ha. We saw fewer fish in front
of the northern hotels. Rule of thumb: The number & variety of
fish is directly proportional to the number of purple coral fans you spot in the
location. If you don't see fans, there's better snorkeling elsewhere. Bring
mosquito repellent for a visit of San Gervasio ruins. Great food at El Cape
Navegante, La Choza, & La Mision. Tulum ruins & the Atlantis
submarine were good rainy day diversions. Our only bad experience was Royal
Holiday/Sol Caribe timeshare scam artists, posing as a discount car rental
agency -- stay clear of these bait-and-switch sleazebags!
