Since I have been posting for the last 6 weeks I think a recap is in order.
Arriving on the ship and getting off in Coz was a breeze...it was fun to watch
the rest of the group sail off for Ft. Lauderdale and know we were staying in
Coz...
Some of our favorite restuarants are now closed but we tried some new ones and
weren't dissapointed. Had a few dinners at the old stand by's such as Prima's,
French Quarter, La Choza, El Capi Navigante, Sonora Grill, La Parrochia, Casa
Denis to name a few. Had lunch almost every day at Hogtown Cafe at Papa Hogs.
Also couldn't pass up Mezcalitos on the other side a couple of times...plus
stops at Bonita for drinks. Many nights we opted for BBQ Chicken from the
rotissere on 30th at Calle 15. For $6.00 a full chicken, pasta, rice,
tortillas, sauce and shredded lettuce. Some nights after a big lunch we
just popped popcorn and watched a video. Enjoyed La Parilla on 10th just north
of La Choza and on the same side just down the street a small eatery Ecomomica
? which was also very good. Kelly's which is new and right across the street
had pretty good fish and chips and mexican dishes. We also hit the taco
place on 30th across from the San Francisco grocery store for the 80 cent
taco's...great food and low prices.
Had one of the best Pizza's I have ever had at Steph's house the first week we
were on the Island. She has a beautiful new home and her husband is
adorable...
Spent most of my days on the beach at either Papa Hogs or next door at the
Villa Blanca Beach. Made a bunch of new friends and managed to read an all
time high of 14 books.....The BBQ was a blast and so much fun catching up with
the others from Travelnotes....thanks Jidan for the T Shirts.
Doug finished his dive instructors course with Mike at Papa Hogs and was
rewarded with a whipped cream pie in his face after taking his last
skill test....he never saw it coming.
We stayed at the Villa Forte and were pleased with the cleanliness and
comfort. I understand that Jim is going to rent the house on a long term
lease....which makes me sad since I would love to rent it again. He had an
amazing library of National Geographic videos and we spent many an evening
watching them.
It was sad saying our goodbye's after a five week stay but I know we will be
back soon since we left many projects undone including helping out Susan and
the kids at a local school..This is something we wanted to do but didn't
realize how tied up Doug would be. But we will be back...
Trip home was uneventful until we flew into Dallas...the flight was delayed
for over an hour and we missed out connection in Salt Lake City and had to
spend the night. So we left Cozumel on March 6th at 12:30 pm and arrived home
in Spokane on March 7th at 1:00 p.m. Oh the joys of living in an area
that doesn't have non stop flights...but we survived and are already planning
our next trip.....
