 Cozumel Trip Report
Posted by Diana on 01/23/02

My Trip Report......will be short but sweet

Okay......here goes! We got to Cozumel by way of the Carnival cruise ship Fascination. We left Omaha, Ne. early Monday Jan 9th and headed for for Miami. Arrived safe and sound and embarked the ship on Monday afternoon. I will save you all the details of the time spent on the ship and just tell you about our time spent on land. Tuesday was spent at Kew West. A beautiful place but very touristy. It was only 54 degrees and breezy! Had hoped for a little wrmer weather, but thats okay. But on Wednesday we got to Cozumel.

Much warmer day and thank goodness. The first thing we did was take a cab to Chankanaab. I planned on snorkeling and had rented my equipment from the ship. Paid $13.00 only to find out that I could have gotten there at the park for $5.00. Oh well! Live and Learn! I did my snorkeling and took some underwater pictures (not developed yet) and spent some time on the beach. Pretty place but had to see more of the island! Next we got a cab to take us to the east side of the island to Paridise Cafe, El Mirador and Mezcalito's. I was so impressed with the east side, very quiet and sirene. We took lots of pictures (also not developed yet). Stopped for a Corona at Mezcalitos and just sat there and admired the scenery. Wishing now that we had taken time to have the grilled shrimp that I have heard so much about. Anyway, after that we had the cab diver take us back to the downtown area to shop for siouvineers and a bite to eat. By the way, I have to comment on how nice and friendly the cab driver was. He was an excellent driver and offered to take photographs of us. We had lunch at a little cafe on the square. The chicken fajitas were delicious and the margaritas were pretty good too!! After 3,or was it 5, margaritas we decided to head back to the ship. Upon asking how far it was, we were told it wasn't too far, only several blocks, we decided to walk. Just how far is it anyway??? That was a long walk! Took us almost 2 hours. Anyway we got to witness a beautiful sunset(and yes I have a photo of that too on the film) and I would do it all exacly the same again if given the oppurtunity.

Okay....can anyone tell me after I scan my photos and have them on my harddrive.......where can I go to post them so that you guys can see them too?

Thanks!
