Cozumel Trip Report

back from paradise :(

Club Cozumel Caribe

Just wanted to post a quick trip report, hoping maybe it will help the after vacation blues.  We had another great week at Club Cozumel Caribe.  The snorkeling there was wonderful this time, we even saw a seahorse off the pier 2 days in a row! I watched him until I was almost too tired to swim back to the beach.  We met Scott and Sally at Minigolf, dropped off our Crysalis donation and played a round of golf.  The course is beautiful, I won the 1st 9, but we won't discuss the 2nd.  Lunch at Coconuts on the east side is a MUST, the margaritas alone are reason enough to stop there.  Don't tell, but my other half, found it a great place to celebrate his 40th birthday.  We took a dune buggy tour up north, we wanted to snorkel, but while the 30 mph wind gusts made the view at Castillo Real spectacular, it made for a unswimmable current.  :(  We watched an idiot Italian (I think that was what he was speaking)  pick up an octopus, which of course inked him twice, swim up to the Dzul Ha beach club and proceed to beat the thing to death against the rocks.  I wish I could've beat HIM against the rocks. The staff of the beach club firmly escorted him away, but the damage was already done.  We saw a LOT of thimbles, but swam through them many times without one sting, and even held one in my hand without getting stung.  Were we just lucky?  Or do they get larger and sting then?  Sunday night in the square is so much fun, I did not want it to end, I wouldn't have missed it after reading about it on this board. Except for the "octopus incident"  there was not a bad moment in the entire trip, can't wait to go back...
