 Cozumel Trip Report

Short  Trip Report

We arrived in Cozumel October 19, and it was our first trip to what I can only call "paradise". After lurking on this board for weeks before the trip, I now realize what you have all been talking about.  Cozumel is truly one of the most wonderful places I have ever been. We lazed around the beautiful hotel (the Presidente) for the rest of the day after checking in, and the next morning, we got together with Alison and took a resort course.  We were amazed at how patient she was with beginners and how safe and natural it felt learning to scuba dive with her. We had a fabulous dinner at the Lobster House (yum!), and the next morning, could hardly wait to get into the water again (uh-oh, are we getting addicted to this?) Alison took us out on two boat dives that day, and my husband and I agree that it was one the most beautiful days we have ever spent together. (Now we are really hooked!!). We had another great dinner at Pepe's Grill, where of course we ate way too much!!  Unfortunately we didn't get to see as much of the island as we wanted because it was such a short trip.  Plus, we DID have to spend some time snuggled up in a hammock on the beach watching a cool lightning storm offshore in the distance one night. To those of you that dive and keep coming back to Cozumel  ---I UNDERSTAND NOW!!!!  To those of you who have not been yet, you are in for a real treat.  As for us, we will be back as soon as we can, most likely in March or April. We highly recommend Alison--she is excellent. As for the Presidente---well, it was wonderful.  Good food, fantastic service, and the people of Cozumel were warm, fun, friendly people.  We will be back..... Have fun out there
