Comments: Just gotta share alittle re: my recent Cozumel trip. My wife and
I were there about two years ago and stayed at the Fiesta Americana,
all-inclusive. This time we stayed at the Coral Princess.
Overall we had a great time. The C.P. is a nice
property for a hotel it’s size. You won’t find any of the family
activities that you will at other places, but for the money, we were very
happy. It’s close enough to town to be convenient, and removed enough to be
private. Great snorkeling right off the hotels, man made beach. Everybody’s
right about the pool, located out of the suns range for the am hours. Hotels
rooms are nice, and clean. Food there, not great. Too much $, for what
you’re getting. Pedro’s great. Everything you’ve read about him is true.
Definitely one of the C. P.’s greatest assets.
On to the rest’s. I ask about local food, really looking for a good steak
and breakfast. The reality is that steaks are not great in Coz. No matter
what’s said--- I got word that I’d get a great steak at “Especias”.
They have a wonderful owner/manager--- very personable & warm--- but they
don’t have good steaks, and the atmosphere is ok. I was also directed to
Pepe’s for steak. Ordered a large steak, cost me 25.00 dollars. It was
thick, cooked (well) the way I like it. But honestly--- it wasn’t that
tasty!. Great atmosphere & service--- but----- I gotta be honest--- and
I’m sure some of the locals will dispute me (and please--- know I love Coz.
And will return--- hopefully soon) but the best steak I got was at T.G.I.F.
Fridays. In fact we ate there lot’s. Really lots more then I wanted too. I
did want to find a rest. That was local (not a chain) with great food. The one
I did like the best was Palmera’s right across from the ferry. All the food
I ate there was good. And the
prices were reasonable. That’s my Coz. report. A great place to
vacation.
