Cozumel Trip Report

El Presidente Inter-Continental Cozumel
El Presidente Hotel View El Presidente Hotel Pool

Ok, i have been back for 2 weeks, so it is time for the report. Coz was fantastic, as usual.
The flight from Boston was delayed for over an hour, but we made our connection in Miami (barely). From Miami we flew to Cancun, where we had a 3 hour layover. needless to say that is a bit too long. we  cleared cusoms, had lunch in the Cancun airport, had a few beers and still had  a few hours to kill. oh well. We catch our  flight on Air Caribe and land in Coz at 5:30 P.M. all is well.

Check in at Presidente was a breeze. Concierge brought us free drinks, and the front desk gave us a comp room upgrade. very nice. the room was very nice. ground floor with a little patio that a few iguanas liked to call home. they were like rent-a-pets for the week.
we had dinner at all of the favorite places. La Choza, El Morro, Manati, French Quarter, Prima and La Mission. they were all great!
the lime soup al La Choza had an incredible lime flavor that Tami and myself really enjoyed, but it was topped by the soup at EL Morro.. what an incredible bowl of flavor! shrimp on a wire was a winner as well.
but, for my second trip, i still think that Manati is king!! at least for pleasing american tastes, they have it down.
basically we were diving everyday with Scuba Du who is the house shop at our hotel. they were excellent. Eduardo was the best! the diving was superb, even with the vis down considerably from my last trip. We got to see it all. lots of turtles, rays, toadfish, eels, seahorses, nurse sharks, crabs, lobsters, squid, snakes plus all of the usual angelfish, puffers, etc.
i love Coz!
on our off day from diving we chartered a boat from Scuba Du for fishing. again, the captain and mate were fantastic. fishing was a little slow, however, my fiance caught a 55 lb. mahi mahi! that was very exciting! and all i caught was a 12 lb. barracuda, oh well.. she won. i have to accept it.
rented a car for 2 days from Hertz at the hotel. $us50 a day for a beat up little Nissan with a/c . not as cheap as some, but very convenient. went to Dzul Ha, ate drank and snorkled.
drove to the east side.. how wonderful. stopped at coconuts for lunch and beer. shopped at the little area near mexcalitos and got a pretty good deal on a hammock.
the weather could not have been better. a few sprinkles here and there. but mostly rain free. just enough cloud cover to keep it cool.
i could go on and on, but this is already getting long.
Thanks to all af you for your help. This message board is the best!!
