A boring report but  the best I can do .

ts Friday afternoon and its finally time to leave the house. A quick run to O'Hare and --- WOW look at the line! But an hour later and my bags are checked and I have already hooked up with Chumley.  Note: A lady ahead of me came to the airport without matching ID she held up our flight for over 30 minutes!
But hey we're off and Cozumel is the next stop.
Scuba Jim has arrived ahead of me and has assured me he will be there to greet me with a vehicle and a Rum and Coke. This remains to be seen as I forgot to pick him up on a previous trip tehehe. (So what’s a measly 4 hours between friends)?
We land and it takes forever to get my bags and past the green light. But I do and sure enough there is my buddy Jim with a drink in hand. I take a BIG SWALLOW and much to my surprise it is a Rum and Coke! But it’s lacking considerably in the Coke!
I fight it down and head out to what I thought would be one of Mikes Trucks, but hey, there’s no truck in sight!
Jim's reply "We Don't Need No Stinking Truck" and with all the confidence of an Island Timeshare Salesman, he points to a yellow 80cc scooter from Smart. Well we saddle up and pull out of the airport with my luggage in tow much to the amusement of several of the Taxi drivers , who are honking and laughing.
It’s a short and thankfully uneventful ride to the house.
I quickly make a change into island evening attire check all the necessities, yes electric is on water runs toilets flush AND there is still 3 bottles of Rum in the Cabinet soooooo we're both back on the scooter and heading to Tony Rome’s for Ribs and a few more R&C's . Then its over to the Cactus to see David but oopps no David, he and the band have left. Down to Viva Mexico, C&C's and then to a New Club
The Ba Ba Lou III. Well 1:30 AM manages to sneak up on us, so its back to the house for some well-deserved sleep.
Saturday Morning:
Its 7:00 am the sun is streaming through the sliding glass doors that lead out to my rear garden. I watch for awhile, the little green and yellow finches as they gather the nectar from my bougainvillea, and then head to the kitchen to hit the switch on the Crups and await for the wonderful smell of coffee in Mexico.
Jim and I discuss the agenda for the day and head to Smart to pick up a scooter for me. Well there is no scooter available yet, so off we go to Hog Town Cafe for breakfast and to See Mike and Margaret, old friends and owners of Papa Hogs Scuba Emporium.
Breakfast of Huevos Mexicana is as always great, a few more cups of coffee to chase away the cobwebs of the night before and we are once again ready to discuss our plans for the next 14 days.
Seems the topic of discussion is NOT the weather or diving or even which party will win the election.
But it is! When will the liquor sales be halted, will they be halted at all and if so, for how long? Jim gets a very serious look on his face, which I acknowledge and we head to the store to do a weeks worth of shopping.
We get another bottle of rum to add to the 3 at the house already and 2 Grande placticos of Coke some nuts and chips and T.P. and yep one weeks shopping done with, we head to the house. WE decide to dedicate the day to picking up a scooter and cruising around town looking for a car to buy.
Audrey and I had decided, that it only makes sense to have a car at the house. It would be cheaper, more convenient and add to our sence of really belonging on the island. But just what to buy? Well I felt it should be a convertible or a 4x4.
Aud wanted it to be a VW Sedan.
We got  the VW sedan :(
But this as always was no simple transaction in Mexico. No it took 23 pages of documents passing hands to finally arrive with a car, free and clear and registered in My Name. Go Figure! Got the car for Audrey soooo off to try and find a motorcycle or scooter for me. But this was not to be. Not at least for this trip. : (
Sunday we/Mike Jim and I did a venture to Mescalitos for the afternoon. Mike on his H.D. Heritage and Jim and I on our Smart 80cc scooters. Wow I forgot just how long a ride it is on the cross-island road. My scooter refused to go beyond the 70kph mark, which is about 42 mph. Mike, got wayyyyy ahead of us/me needless to say. However we caught up and passed him once we we're seated on a coupler of stools and tipping a few cold ones.
Note: we never did figure out the liquor sales thing, as it seemed you could always get a beer or what ever somewhere. Everyone had his or her own rules. PLG closed the bar from 10:45 PM Sat. till some time Sunday afternoon. Some never stopped and a few didn't open up for Sat or Sunday. Your guess is as good as ours on this one.
Back to the house to S/S and Shave and back to town for dinner. Gaviatos grill for dinner .Now here was a new twist. They could not give away a drink as is there custom with dinner but you could buy one, huh?
Had a decent dinner but his prices have really gone up and the quality seems to be down. This we would find to be a common denominator on the island. Most of the clubs where either closed or very slow so we headed back to the Casa for an early night. Monday morning was coming and we were going to do our usual beach dive to check out our gear.
Monday morning has arrived. Jim had forced me to sit out front and drink R&C's with him till the weeee hours and catch up on all that has been going on since last we'd seen each other. (Last trip was in Sept and we had gotten stranded in Coz.)
Off again to Hog Town for Breakfast and a beach dive.
After breakfast we inform Margaret we will be doing a gear check/beach dive, she ask to see our C cards and suggest we have a DM go along to check out our basic skills tehehe. This is in response to the fact that over the last 3 trips equaling about 7 weeks her records show that we average about 3 two tank dives per trip. Then informs us it would have made more sense for us to be bartenders than dive instructors points to the beach while shaking her head.
We head down to the beach get tanks and lead and begin to gear up. Jim turns to me and asks WHATS free flowing? I tell him it’s ONLY my OCTO and if his is working we wont need mine. He shakes his head and says... we're dive buddies you me same ocean.
I bang the octo a few times and it stops and we head into the water. All goes as well as could be expected.
Hey it’s a shallow beach dive and yes I give my octo some attention once we're back. A few minor adjustments and everything is once again in top working order. Lunch and back to car hunting.
I Know Its Boring so far but it was our trip.
HINT : it aint going to get much better :) More later
Good night.
