Comments: Whats to say? All the nay sayers are just that. Picky complainers. Hotel Management could be a little better however, evryone was terrific except Ricardo @ reservations (a total hole). But, $5 will get you into any restaurant you want. Food was just ok but could ALWAYS find something good. THE best guak and pico anywhere. Rooms were cleaned daily and early,NO BUGS, ANTS or any varmints for that matter. A couple of bucks will get you a fridge in your room that will always be well stocked everyday w/bottled water. Great water pressure and all plumbing worked fine, as well as the A.C.- Can't say enough about the Staff - Freddy at the bar - Maricarma at the pool, Edwardo & Mauricio in the restaraunts were all excellent. Grounds are well kept and beautiful. Now, what we came for, the scuba diving. The Best Diving yet. Pablo @ Dive Palancar was awesome. If not for him my wife would never have gotten her certification and I would have been diving alone. With Pablos patienc
e she now wants to know when we're coming back because she fell in love with it. We logged almost 5 hours in the water in the 1 week we were there. 8 different reef dives, all totally different and awesome. Lots of 'Cudas,Eels, Huge Lobsters, Rays, Turtles, big Grouper and large Snappers over 200lbs, 1000's of fish, totally cool. We hired Andres' the videogragher and for $120 you go home with 30 mins. of great underwater footage of you on your 2 dives. The Allegro for the money is the best deal going. 2 people 1 week all you can eat and DRINK! under $1000 thats $just about $80 a day per person to eat, drink, sleep and be merry AND, all beach activities are included. Wanna learn to scuba? its INCLUDED! Sailing, Kayaking, Snorkeling, included. Want to complain? Go somewhere else where its warranted. For the money you spend here it would have been adequate if they gave you a tent and a shovel. To make this long report shorter, needless to say we will be back because the diving
is that good and the Hotel is not that bad and by this time next year all the renovations should be complete. Rent a jeep it cost us $32 a day or $200 for the week.Go into town its well worth it. Park and walk around , everyone has deal for ya. The drive around the Island is wonderful with a certain peace to it. Stop at the Rasta bar on the south tip for a cold one and tell Jose' that Richy sent you. Hell get a kick out of that. And, dont leave there without trying the shrimp ceviche'. I hope this report may influence any procrastinators to try the Allegro. You will be glad.
Rich C
