We're back!!  Trip report part 1. Sorry Judy I beat you to it!! :)

Well the 8 of us started off on our journey with a meal in Chicago with a spanish speaking waitress that really got us fired up, she gave us our spanish names and a few tips and we were ready to go! All went well at the airports. We arrived at El Cozumeleno, we were all happy with our rooms on the 4th floor very spacious and a nice overlook of the pool area and the beautiful water!!! We started the next day with a nice breakfast at the hotel and then spent the rest of the day at the pool and finding our way around and then we ventured down past Playa Azul for some snorkeling which was perfect, we floated with the current right back to El Coz. We had 3 people with us who have never snorkeled before so this was a nice way to introduce them to the sport. After a nice dinner and a bit of relaxing we hit our rooms so we could get an early start the next day which was going to be our Eastside adventure.
Well we woke up to a very heavily clouded day, but we had made a reservation to get our car for the week from Aquilar rentadora, well our excitement soon came to an end, we found out that they did not have as down even though we had talked to them via the internet and phone, but after much insistance they did get us a convertible, they tried to give us a hard top but no way we HAD to have a converible so away we went 4 of us in that car and 4 more in another car that they rented for the day only from national. Well all was well until it started to rain and of course us with the converible we were getting soaked so up went the top but no windows so we got wet and cold too! Oh but that was not  the end of the fun! Oh No! We made it to Bob Marleys and had a Sol and then went to leave and the car would not start so we had to push it down the road to jump start it!! :) So then we stopped at Coconuts had a nice visit there and then again push the car down the road to jump start it!!Oh and then we also noticed that the tire was getting flat!! Keep in mind that we are having the laughing jag of our life!!! It's still raining too!! Then we end up at Mezcalitos, by now we are starving after all of this work! So we have a great meal of shrimp and a nice visit with them. Also we took a peek at the pics from the naked beach! Wow!! We didn't know anyone in the pics at least not like that!!!LOL. One has to be brave to be in those pic books!!! Ok off we go head back to town enjoy the scenery on the way back, this is the first time that we have been to the eastside and the water has been on the calm side so it was a different look if it hadn't been raining and chilly we would have enjoyed walking on the beach. So we drop everyone of at El Coz and then my husband and I head to town to exchange this car for one that works better, so just as we get to a parking space downtown the gas pedal cable breaks and we have to once again push this car into the space!! We get a "like new car" as they called it!! LOL But anyway it runs on it's own, it's a hard top which I was not happy about but it works so I don't complain to much!! So we get back and eat and head back to town for Sunday night but not much going on too windy and cold, that was dissapointing but we manage to do some shopping and then head back for a good nights sleep.
Monday some go golfing and I'll leave that up to Judy to report on! The girls head to "Shampoo" for a Pedicure. Which was awesome my first ever so I really enjoyed that. Then we checked out Chedraui (spelling) which I hear is referred to as the mexican walmart, yep I agree. Then we head to town for some more shopping and a lunch at La Choza, awesome shrimp fajitas!! Took our bargins and headed back to El Coz for dinner in La Vernada restaurant, which was awesome. It was a wonderful day!
Stay tuned for the rest!!
Sorry it was so long I always have a lot to talk about!!

Ok the second part of our trip report!!

Ok now it's Tuesday and the weather is still
crummy! But it's not raining!! So my husband and I headed out in our hard top VW (which I hate I want a convetible) But now the eastside is pretty much back to normal with the high waves and wind. We love it!Drove around and checked out the back side of the town, found out where our favorite place is now Casa Mission wow! Nice place. We remember when it was just a little place! Checked out some of our snorkel spots so when the weather clears we are ready to go! We just can't believe how much Coz has changed over the years, the last time we were there was 3 years ago and it has lost a lot, it's getting way to commercial (A Mac Donalds) no way!!! it's really to bad, but that's progress for ya! Any way then we picked up 2 more from our group and set out to find the way to Passion Island and we got to the area where you can cross over wow what a surprise to get way back in there and find tour buses and tons of jeeps and taxi's!! And we thought we were really brave driving back in there! We then joined the rest of out group for a nice dinner back at El Coz and early night in. The next day we set out for a real adventure! Jeep tour! We wanted to go all the way to the Punta Molas light house we had never been there before so we had worked it out with our guy to do that while the rest of the jeep tour people went on the regular tour, and what fun that was it took a long time to get there but we saw so many neat things in the jungle, tons of huge iguanas. We climbed all the steps to the top as my legs cramped up but once you reached the top and could see for ever and ever and how breath taking beautiful it was it was worth it!! :) We could have stayed there for
the rest of our lives!! We then headed back to meet up with the rest of the jeep tour for a fantastic lunch on the beach and my husband and our guy went snorkeling it was to ruff for me, and the rest of the people too, not much will stop Jeff I think our guy thought he was nuts to go but they went anyway!! We then headed on the trip back to town to hook up with the rest of our group at El Coz. We then went to the Mexican dinner show and it was awesome we really enjoyed that. The next morning we took the scuba class at El Coz, 3 others from our group took it yesterday and fell in love with it so now we want to try it. Well guess what 4 of the scuba class graduates are going on a dive!! So we all head out for Papa hogs and they go dive and have the time of their lives the hook is set now, they'll be back as certified divers that's for sure!!! While they do that 3 more of us snorkel the area, we see a lot of neat fish so we are thrilled also. Well after all that excitment they head back to El Coz to pick up their sunset snorkel cruise and Jeff and I head out to find Paradise shallows we find it after driving up down the old road a few times we weren't seeing the little road we were suppose to turn on! To excited I guess and not to mention we are now driving on an empty gas tank so we head to town and get gas and go right back at it and we find it, the funny thing is we get there and who do we see out there the rest of the our group on the snorkel tour!! How we laughed!! Anyway it was a really nice place to snorkel, we then head out to another place that we like and once again it doesn't let us down, after you get under the water you remember why you love Cozumel sooooooooooo much!!! Head to town for a few last minute things and we find the bakery that we have not been able to find for 8 years!!! So of course we have to have a treat and a cappucino! Head back to El Coz for dinner and then to bed we are really wiped out after all the water today! Get up the next morning really early pack check out and head back to the same to snorkel spots with some of our group for a few hours! then we have to drop off the car and have a discussion with Ricardo and my husband and he work out a deal that we all can live with so nobody feels cheated. We will use them again! Time to go home and start thinking about coming back!!! :) All in all the weather really didn't slow us down we had an awesome time we love Cozumel and love the people who call it home! Peace and Love to all!! :)
