10 Days in Coz-Short Report

Plaza Las Glorias
Plaza Las Glorias

My husband and I were in Coz 3/27 thru 4/6.  Package deal through Transglobal.  We have never been dissapointed in the 5 trips we have booked through them.  Very organized.

Arrived Coz at 9:30 and were in our hotel room #327 at Plaza Las Glorias by 10:30.  Snorkeling and drinking cervesa's by 11:00 at the hotel.  Good snorkeling at the hotel.  We always stay at PLG because you can walk to town, there is a safe in your room, along with a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.  All rooms have a great view.  (note:  tip at least $2 a day and you will always have plenty of towels, extra t.p., kleenex, soap, etc. Maybe even a flower in a vase.  We did have the maid "hot finger" a few small items though such as a cuticle scissors and a hard sunglasses case.)

Rented a VW bug hardtop for $250 for a week through Alamo downtown.  Be sure to have the internet price so they honor the price, otherwise would cost us an additional $100.  Freddie runs the place and is a fair man.

We had 3 dinners at the French Quarter.  Mike and Jim run the place.  They felt like big brothers by the time we left.  WE LOVE THEIR FOOD!  Remember, Ribs on Fri-Sat-Sun.  Other excellent items are the Red Beans and Rice with sausage, and the Corn Chowder is to dye for. My husband said the Chicken Fried Steak was the best he had ever had.

Had one dinner at El Moro. Highly recommended.  Their Shrimp and fish combo, and Chicken and beef combo are tops on our list.  Again, the service excellent and they speak really good English.

Had one dinner at Manati.  Yes the Mango Chicken IS as wonderful as everyone has raved!  WOW! Excellent service, once again.

Best pizza has got to be Cobalto Azul and Guido's.  Guido's has the beautiful romantic atmosphere to boot.  Both have great desserts.

Beaches:  SanFrancisco and Palancar are our favorites for calm water.  Playa Bonita is our favorite for playing in the surf on the other side.  (yes the tide has all but wiped out the palapa's)  I guess they just rebuild and put up more when that happens.

The Weather: HOT, it was about 90 everyday and really humid.  We both tanned before we left and we still used a ton of 30 and 45 sunscreen.  Bring a hat and save your head and face.

Now, people wanted to know if taking the acidophilus worked.  I hate to tell people this but I spent a day and a half in bed on the 7th day of our trip.  I didn't eat a thing for about 24 hours and was curled up in a ball holding my stomach.  It felt like I had a rock in it.  This was not alcohol induced.  We aren't big drinkers.  We even ate yogurt everyday in hopes of "beefing" up the good bacteria in our systems. We got home on the 6th, today is the 9th and my husband just called in sick to work. He has had diarehea (sp) since we returned home. I'm guessing he has a bacterial infection.  I always get the bacterial problem but I avoided it this time. I guess Montezuma's revenge during the trip was all I was going to be troubled with.  I don't have the answer to this one.  I've been to coz 6 times and get sick everytime.

All in all we had an awesome trip and plan on returning next March/April as usual.
