Cozumel Cruise Piers

Cruise Ship Schedules: The cruise ship schedule is not always the same as the local time of the visiting city/island. Some cruise ships change their clocks to reflect the local time but otheres do not. If you are not sure, ask your cruise line. If your ship leaves in eastern time (Florida) and your ship does not adjust their clocks, that means you will arrive 1 hour earlier local time.

Cozumel Island and the Mayan Riviera and it's surroundings are safe, friendly and very easy to get around. Join thousands of cruise ship passengers who save money by booking outside the cruise ship. Tour vouchers with details and easy directions and local contact numbers are provided within 1/2 business day of booking your reservation. Very easy, very fast. We only use reputable tour operators.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Does the tour pick up at the cruise ship pier?

No. Due to regulations regarding pick ups, there are no picks ups allowed. However, the meeting/starting locations of each of the tours are very easy to get to. Some meeting locations are just a short walk away or you may have to take a short taxi ride. There are tons of taxis available at all times at all cruise piers. There is only one taxi company. This area is a safe place to travel. Normal precautions should be taken.

2. How will know where to go to?

All instructions, phone numbers and details will be in the vouchers that you will receive upon making a reservation.

3. How soon will I get my voucher?

The voucher will be emailed to you normally within 1/2 business day of making your reservation. Vouchers can also be faxed to you.

4. How do I know my reservation is confirmed.

Once you receive the voucher, you are confirmed. The tour operator is already expecting you and will have a copy of your voucher.

5. What if the cruise ship changes schedule?

Not a problem. You will get a full refund by contacting us on time (prior to 24 hours (weekdays), 48 hours (weekends), 72 hours (US & Canadian holidays) or we can switch dates provided space is still available. As soon as the itinerary changes, just email/phone/fax us from the cruise ship with your new schedule or just let us know you want to cancel. Cruise ships generally stay on schedule. We set up tours for 1000's of cruise passengers yearly.

6. What if the weather if bad?

Tours run rain or shine. If the weather is unsafe for the tour to run, the tour will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund. Only the tour operator may cancel the tour for a full refund to apply. The yucatan generally has very good weather throughout the year. There is only a four or five degree variance between winter and summer temperatures with winter highs in the mid 80's °F and summer highs around 90°F. August through October is the rainy season. During the rainy season, traveler's may experience very short spurts of rain but the rain dries up very quickly.

7. How can I feel safe I won't miss my ship's departure?

Thousands of cruise ship passengers every year book tours through us. We ensure we book tours that fit into YOUR cruise ship schedule. Your schedule is shown right in your voucher so that the tour guides are aware as well. Also, if you have an early departure, we put that information on the voucher as well so the guides are aware in advance. Also, if on that day, your schedule changes, you just have to let your tour guide know at the start of the tour.

8. The tour sounds the same as the one offered on the ship. Is it the same tour operator?

Currently, all but one tour is offered on only one of the cruise lines. Our tours are locally run tours. That means smaller group sizes, cheaper rates and definately more bang for your buck! After reading and comparing you will notice our prices are cheaper and offer more on the tours.

9. There is a similar tour offered on the ship and the same price. Why should I book through TravelNotes?

All the rates offered are directly tour operator prices. That means you get the exact same rate as if you tried to book the tour directly after spending your time and money calling them in Mexico. In addition, compare the tour and you will notice our tours offer more in the tour.

10. I don't speak any Spanish? Is that a problem?

Not a problem. All taxi drivers speak enough English to get you anywhere. All drivers know locations by names. For example, if you want to go downtown, just say "downtown" and you'll get there. There are information centers located at the piers and downtown. Learn spanish phrases.

11. Do I need to have Mexican pesos? Or can I use US dollars? Or Canadian dollars?

US dollar is accepted everywhere. USD traveller's checks accepted almost everywhere. Visa and MasterCard is widely accepted at all restaurants and many tour operators but the best prices are when paying cash or traveller's checks. Less places accept American Express (mostly shopping areas) and Diner's cards. Canadian dollar is not widely accepted. Better to convert to US dollars or pesos. Exchange booths at very competitive exchange rates available near pier locations and all over downtown. As well, there are banks open during the day and ATM machines at the banks for direct Interac.

12. What credit cards are accepted?

Visa and MasterCard is widely accepted. Some but fewer larger restaurants and shopping establishments accept American Express and Diners Cards.

13. What are the safety concerns?

Cozumel is a tourist island and is considered a very safe island. However, travelers should always take regular safety cautions. There is one regulated taxi company. Do not leave things unattended in public places and always lock your car doors.

Cozumel is safe, friendly and very easy to get around. Join thousands of cruise ship passengers who save money by booking outside the cruise ship. Tour vouchers with details and easy directions and local contact numbers are provided within 1/2 business day of booking your reservation. Very easy, very fast. We only use reputable tour operators.
